Jerez and its countryside

Living the wine culture

Jerez de la Frontera is the largest town in the province of Cádiz, with just over 200,000 inhabitants. We have here a peaceful and quiet urban center located inland just over twenty minutes by car from the beaches of Puerto de Santa María, and which can be a fantastic base for the international buyer who would like to buy a property on the Costa de la Luz.

The best beaches on the Costa de la Luz are less than an hour's drive away, while the White Villages route starts at Arcos de la Frontera within a twenty minutes drive. Also, golf fans can try the wonderful courses of Sherry Golf Jerez and Montecastillo Golf. Jerez also has its own international airport -with low cost flights to London, Brussels, Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich, among others-, as well as a railway connection with Cádiz, El Puerto and Sevilla (and , from here, via AVE, with Madrid and Barcelona). And why Jerez? All you have to do is go down for a walk along its avenues and its downtown streets to understand the charm of this city. This is one of those towns that spreads out their own particular smell, a delicious mixture of the blossom flowers from the orange trees that flood the streets and the aroma of half fermented wine that transpires through the whitewashed walls of the numerous wineries. Indeed, Jerez is the cradle of the famous sherry. This is the strong dry wine that has become world-famous since it is always consumed in the English mansions of the Agatha Christie novels before any murders are committed. The city is surrounded by vineyards and its wonderful old town is populated by small wineries. But not only you have to come to Jerez to visit one of its wineries, this town is also one of the main breeding centers of the Caballo Andaluz (or pure Spanish breed horse). The best time to appreciate the beauty of these animals is during the annual Feria del Caballo (Horse Fair), which takes place at the beginning of May, and which, after Seville, makes the largest Andalusian Fair in Spain. Jerez is also a key city for Flamenco in Andalusia, so it is always possible to see some global fans of this art strolling in the streets of the city where they have come to learn from the best teachers. Finally, motor enthusiasts also have in Jerez one of the best high-speed circuits in Spain, where the Grand Prix of Spain of Moto GP is organized every year, a call that a high concentration of bikers from all over Spain attend to every year. These events can of course be a constant source of rental income for those who have decided to buy a house in Jerez de la Frontera. Sherry wineries, flamenco art, the most beautiful horses, and the best motorcycle competition in Spain. Is there any other reason to buy a house in Jerez? Possibly there is one especially for you. Why do not you come a few days to this wonderful city and discover it for yourself?
