A charming city by the sea

If you are one of those who likes to live in a city, but at the same time want to avoid the crowds, Alicante may just be the city you are looking for. As we approach Alicante, from a distance you can see it laid out around the huge rocks that organize the structure of the city. In the centre of everything, you have the Santa Bárbara castle keeping watch of the city, an impressive 9th century building from Muslim Spain that spreads over the rocky mass of Mount Benacantil. From a certain angle, the rocks resemble the profile of a human face. "The face of the Moor" is the name given to this group of rocks, not entirely politically correct in modern times.
