Explore the magical Caves of Drach

The Mallorcan east coast is quite the opposite of the hustle and bustle of the south and southwest coast, but that does not mean it is boring, as this part of the island will delight anyone with a desire to explore. The municipality of Porto Cristo is an area full of life, due in large part to its marina and the manufacture of the world famous Majorica pearls. Near Porto Cristo, the famous Caves of Drach and the Hams are a must. There you will enter a magical place where stalactites and stalagmites exist side by side with one of the largest underground lakes in the world. In addition to the caves, a little further north, you can spend a great day at the zoo. And, if you want to spend the day with your family in a quiet and paradisiacal cove, on the east coast your biggest trouble will be to choose which one: Cala Torta, Cala Mesquida or Cala Ratjada are all among the best beaches on the island of Mallorca. Should a little more variety be more your thing, why don’t you go and visit the inland town of Artá? In this historic enclave, traditional professions such as pottery and basketry still prevail. Enjoy a great walk to the top of San Salvador Sanctuary, from where you will enjoy a fantastic view of the coast. Golf enthusiasts are also lucky, as three excellent golf courses are located near the towns of Capdepera and Canyamel.
