Vila do Bispo

Adventures in Algarve’s Far West

Close to the town of Lagos and the beach of Praia do Castelejo (surfers beach), Vila do Bispo is one of the most authentic concelhos (municipalities) in the Algarve region. Most of those who have, have chosen to buy a property in Sagres (2,000 inhabitants), the largest town in the municipality, where can lead a relaxed life in close contact with the fabulous nature of Cape Sao Vicente and genuine integration with the local Portuguese community. As to Vila do Bispo town itself, this is another white-washed Algarvean little town, which ban boast to have some 16th century Algarvean houses. If you do not need the night thrills of Albufeira, then Vila do Bispo, then Vila do Bispo still has its share of pleasant entertainment, with some good restaurants where you will taste amazing fish fresh from the ocean (the barnacles are not to be missed), as well as other land delicacies, such as wild boar or partridges.
