Natural Álora

The wonderful white village of Álora is located on the Valley of the Guadalhorce. With 12,000 inhabitants, Álora is a beautiful town made up of whitewashed houses placed on the natural landscape of the Sierra de Aguas. The Arab fortress of Álora, dating back to Phoenician times, stands out in the landscape.

Certainly, one of the main reasons to buy a house in Álora is the possibility of living the life of an authentic Andalusian village in full contact with the nature of the Guadalhorce Valley. Álora is the typical white village with narrow streets and steep slopes, so it might not be the most suitable place for those who have some mobility handicap. Compared to other white villages, Álora is conveniently connected to the city center of Málaga by a 30 minutes train ride. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why this town has raised the curiosity of a growing community of over 1000 expatriates (half of them British) who have made this town their home after deciding to buy a house in Álora. Álora is also a perfect base for exploring the famous Caminito del Rey, a pedestrian walkway where you can explore the Gaitanes gorge and enjoy the breathtaking views. It is one of the most recommended natural wonders of Costa del Sol and your visit requires a reservation several weeks in advance.
