Salou

The coast’s longest beach

Salou is one of the larger holiday resorts in Costa Dorada and is interconnected with nearby Cambrils. And if Cambrils is characterized by old traditions and charm Salou is more modern. Salou has the coast’s longest beach and a promenade with beautiful palm trees on either side. The entertainment is geared towards tourists and there are several waterparks and amusement parks. Two large parks worth mentioning is PortAventura World and PortaAventura Caribe Aquatic. You can also catch the direct train to Barcelona. It takes 1,5 hours and you can spend a nice day shopping and people watching. If you go looking for a property for sale in Salou, you will get a home that is very convenient. Everything that you might need when visiting is right on your doorstep, restaurant, bars, sun and beach as well as interesting places for outings on a rainy day. The beaches are lovely and family friendly with shallow waters. A nice outing is to take a bicycle ride along the old railway tracks near the river Ebro. The tracks run up the hills, but it is not a particularly demanding tour. However, it is always good to remember to bring a water bottle especially on a hot day. And do remember your camera as there are many spots for picture taking during the tour. The panoramic view over the coast and the sea is spectacular. Another recommendation is to get to the small beach by Cala de la Font, on the outskirts of Salou. If you are lucky you will be the only one there. The views are again, spectacular. The transportation links with Salou are fantastic. There are three international airports within 1,5 hours radius. The closest is in Reus, only ten minutes away from Salou. You will not regret looking for a property for sale in Salou, you will for sure fall in love with the area and never want to leave.
