Jávea, with its 25,000 inhabitants, is one of the most important resorts in Marina Alta in northern Costa Blanca, where also Denia, Calpe, and Teulada-Moraira are located. Jávea is very similar to the other nearby resorts: coasts and beaches, high-quality living, a charming and welcoming atmosphere, a paradise for water sports and Valencian Mediterranean food that no one can resist. So, how do you choose one over the other? The best advice is, of course, to get to know each of these places. For example, for Jávea, more than half of the population is of international origin, so it is evident that its charm has managed to seduce a large number of visitors. Particularly remarkable is perhaps the large number of Britons who have chosen to settle in Jávea: almost one in two foreign nationals comes from the UK.
Jávea has a 25-kilometre-long stretch of coastline with both rocks and sandy beaches. From some of the high cliffs, you have a fantastic panoramic view. The famous Impressionist painter, Joaquin Sorolla, fell in love with Jávea and its Mediterranean coastline, its unusual landscapes with various rock formations ("the best I know to paint," he once wrote about the rock formations), and you can find motifs from Jávea in many of his paintings. A great way to see the area is to follow Miradors of Xàbia. It is straightforward to let the map guide you, but you can just as easily follow the excellent signposts. We would like to highlight the Montgó National Park, the imposing mountain that is visible throughout the area. We also recommend looking to the bay of Jávea from the sea, either from a kayak or a motorboat and be sure to dive into the crystal-clear waters and discover the marine nature reserve of Cabo de San Antonio. Aside from visiting and watching these beautiful natural phenomena, you should leave time during your visit for a stroll around the old town, where you should not miss San Bartolome Fort.
