Teulada and Moraira

An idyllic corner of the northern Costa Blanca

Teulada is a unique city in the northern Costa Blanca. It offers its visitors something as special as both a typical Valencian city in the Spanish countryside and a beautiful harbour with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. Teulada municipality is divided into two parts: on the one hand, we have the city of Teulada itself, a maze of whitewashed walls and narrow streets, located six kilometres from the coast and dominated by the majestic gothic church of Santa Catalina. On the other hand, the port of Teulada, although still part of the same municipality, is a distinctive part with its own name: Moraira. Here we find a captivating fishing village with wonderful sunsets, and its charm has attracted an increasing number of international residents. In fact, the international part of the population has grown so large, today only 45 percent of the 12,000 inhabitants of Teulada municipality are Spaniards. Most international residents choose Moraira's coastal lifestyle, where it is possible to find people from all over the world. Moraira is an ideally located Spanish town to settle in. The town is full of places from which you can look out over the city and also enjoy a breath-taking view of the ocean. After a walk along the bay, it may be advisable to stop at the castle in Moraira. From the castle, you have beautiful views of the sea, Peñón de Ifach, and Sierra de Bernia. In Moraira there are many activities to choose from, such as just enjoying the peace and quiet and strolling through the village, playing some water sports or swimming in one of the hidden bays. And if you are a foodie, you will love the local market where you can buy fresh fish and other ingredients to make the best home-made dishes. With fresh produce like that, you just cannot fail.
