If you have decided to reside in the city of Alicante, one option may be to look for a property in the urban area, where you will have easy access to all services and shops, and you will have the well-kept Playa del Postiguet close by, still in the heart of the city. However, the scarce supply of flats has been inflating the prices in the urban centre for a few years and, due to its central location, every summer Postiguet is full of sun seekers. Therefore, it is not surprising that a large majority of new residents of Alicante have chosen to look further out. Many look along the stretch that begins in the Albufereta and continues along the entire Playa de San Juan for six kilometres, to buy or rent their new home. The main attraction is, of course, the beautiful beach, a long stretch of fine sand and crystal-clear waters accompanied by the best services and a string of bars and restaurants. To all this we must add some great communications with the urban Alicante by TRAM, the modern streetcar line. The incredible development that this area has had in recent years can be seen with a simple walk along Avenida Jaume I, parallel to the promenade: the encounter with crane after construction crane shows that real estate development is still in full swing. And, while it is true that not all architectural designs are at the forefront of creativity, the prices are usually very reasonable, especially if we consider that we are in one of the best holiday areas in Spain. Despite offering unbeatable value for money, the area of Playa de San Juan seems to be a well-kept secret, since purchases are made almost exclusively by Spaniards. For the somewhat more adventurous foreign buyer, who wants to sharpen his or her knowledge of Spanish and who enjoys being a pioneer, this may be a golden opportunity. In the area of Playa de San Juan you can find many opportunities to invest at a good price and a new life full of Spanish friends and to being fully integrated into the local culture.
