Santa Pola

Beaches among salt mines

Santa Pola is another great option for those looking for a second home close to some of the best beaches of the Mediterranean. Pristine and beautiful beaches, many of them with blue flag, are the main attraction to the visitor. To this we must add plenty of cultural interests as well as 15 kilometres of coastline where you can find great hiking trails and a fantastic view point by the lighthouse, from where you will enjoy unparalleled views of the sea and the coast of Alicante. And if that wasn’t enough, Santa Pola has an enviable location, just a few kilometres from the airport and the City of Alicante.

Plentiful culture on offer

If culture is your thing, this town has lots to offer, some even a little out of the ordinary. There are several museums and one which stands out is the Esteban González museum that is, nothing more and nothing less, than in a trawler. An atypical museum, to say the least but that shows us life in a traditional fishing boat of Santa Pola and pays homage to the fishing industry, the main livelihood of the town. And you really don’t want to miss out of a visit to the Salt Museum in the old village Salina, where you will find curiosities such as more than 14,000 uses of salt and the reason why the flamingos are pink. Here you will find the answers to all your salt related question you might never had the opportunity to ask before.

To the plate straight from the sea

Great food is an asset for any city and that is also true for Santa Pola. Santa Pola is one of the most important fishing ports of the Mediterranean. That means of course that you can find fantastic fish in Santa Pola. This is the place where “from sea to the table” is really the truth.
